A Thanksgiving Message for You and Your Family

A soft, faith-filled Thanksgiving message reminding moms of the Christian roots of gratitude. A simple reminder that even in busy seasons, God’s provision and peace are still close. A warm…

No human counsel hath devised nor hath any mortal hand worked out these great things. They are the gracious gifts of the Most High God…” — President Abraham Lincoln, Thanksgiving Proclamation, 1863“

Today, before the turkey comes out of the oven and before the house fills with voices and laughter, I wanted to share a simple Thanksgiving message from my heart to yours.

Happy Thanksgiving, friend.
Whether your table is full or simple this year…
Whether you’re cooking for a crowd or quietly celebrating in your own home…
I pray God meets you right where you are with peace, strength, and provision.

Thanksgiving has deep roots in American history, but even deeper roots in Christian gratitude. And I love that—because it reminds us that giving thanks isn’t something we do once a year. It’s a posture of the heart, a choice to pause and say: “Lord, You’ve carried us this far, and You’ll carry us farther still.”

A Little Christian History Behind Thanksgiving

Long before it became a national holiday, Thanksgiving grew from moments of real struggle, prayer, and God’s provision.

The Pilgrims’ First Thanksgiving (1621)

When the Pilgrims came to America, they suffered through a brutal first winter. Many families lost loved ones. Resources were scarce. People were sick, exhausted, and unsure of what the future held.

But they prayed.
They trusted God.
And He sent help—mainly through the Wampanoag people, who taught them how to plant, fish, and survive in their new land.

The harvest that followed was better than anything they expected.

So in 1621, Governor William Bradford declared a three-day feast. It wasn’t about abundance. It was about acknowledging God’s mercy after a season of fear, uncertainty, and loss.

Lincoln’s Proclamation (1863)

Fast-forward to the Civil War—America’s darkest chapter.
Right in the middle of national chaos, President Abraham Lincoln called the nation to pause and give thanks.

His proclamation reminds us that:

Lincoln didn’t make Thanksgiving a celebration of prosperity.
He made it a reminder of God’s faithfulness in the middle of struggle—a theme every mom understands deeply.

A Thanksgiving Note From Me to You

If this year has stretched you…
If you’re juggling bills, kids, goals, and all the unseen mom responsibilities…
If you’ve been praying for breakthroughs or quiet miracles…

I want you to know: God sees you.
He honors your effort.
He isn’t late. He isn’t distant. He’s right here with you, even if the season feels uncertain.

Thanksgiving isn’t about pretending everything’s perfect.
It’s about pausing long enough to recognize the blessings God has already placed in our hands—big ones, small ones, and the ones we didn’t even notice in the moment.

So today, I’m thankful for you.

Thankful you’re here.
Thankful you’re trying.
Thankful you’re walking this journey one step at a time—trusting God, doing your best, and showing up for your family again and again.

From my home to yours…
Happy Thanksgiving. May God fill your table, your heart, and your year ahead with peace, joy, and provision.
